James Emery Anderson, a longtime resident of Monticello, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 84. He proudly serviced in the United States Army and United States Air Force receiving honorable discharges. He was a minority business controller in New Jersey and New York, and also worked for Rolling V Bus Company for over 17 years. He is survived by his loving wife: Mattie Anderson, at home; Sons: Daryl Eaves of Tuskegee, Alabama, Kevin (Elizabeth) Anderson of Jamaica, NY, Keith (Tahisha) Anderson of Clayton, NJ, and Kenneth (Roberta) Anderson of Laurelton, NY; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 4 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and loving friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24 from 10am to 12 noon at the First Baptist Church, 28 Liberty Street in Monticello. His funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
