Obituary of Frank Peters Sr.

Frank Peters, Sr., 87, a longtime resident of Monticello, NY went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Wayne, NJ, due to health complications. Frank was born to the late Ida Smith and Pat Peters on August 27, 1927 in Demopolis, AL. He then moved to Monticello where he raised his family and became a member of Local 17 and a lifelong member of Local 147 Sandhogs Bronx, NY. He was predeceased by his mother Ida Smith and father Pat Peters; his wife, Mabel; his sons, James, David, Frank Jr., and Timothy. He leaves to cherish his memories one son Eric, Bronx, NY; one daughter Tiffany (Alpheus) Gibbs, Monticello, NY; three sisters Fannie Mae Lewis, Mobile, AL; Roberta Hildreth, Elyria, OH; Catherine Grace, Demopolis, AL; one brother in law John (Mattie) McNeil, Fairhope, AL; a devoted daughter in law Amber Cole, Monticello, NY; two granddaughters J'Aimelle (Delwin) Sledge, Fairhope, AL; Nakeeta Cole, Monticello, NY. Two grandsons Frank Peters III and Kenneth Morgan, Philadelphia, PA; five great grand's Saniya, Mikhah, Delwin Jr., Symphany and Bella. A devoted friend, Tom Selkirk and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, Sandhogs and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, November 8 from 11am to 12pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
