Joan B. Messineo, 80, of Wurtsboro died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family, after a short illness. The daughter of the late Reginald and Frances Osborne, she was born on February 11, 1932 in Suffern. Joan was a longtime waitress at several local establishments. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her two sons: Kevin (Kelly) Messineo of Wurtsboro and Frank (Mary) Wysocki of Virginia; 10 grandchildren: Eric, Alyssa, Kerry, Leigh, Christopher, Michael, Adam, Jessica, Sarah and Joseph; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Messineo; daughter Joan Wright; brother Lawrence Osborne; and sister Dolores Mayhook. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 22 from 10am to 12 noon at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday sometime during the visitation. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
